Welcome to the Northumberland and North Tyneside Shoreline Management Plan 2 (SMP2) website.

The SMP2 will provide a large-scale assessment of the risks associated with coastal erosion and sea flooding between Berwick and the River Tyne. It will also provide a policy framework to manage these risks to people and the developed, natural and historic environment in a sustainable manner over the next 100 years.
